Traced from England to America back in 17th Century, nothing to do with France.
What's the recipe:
-
Take a bowl, add 2 to 3 eggs, 100 ml of milk, 2 - 3 tablespoon sugar, and maple syrup (optional). Mix it well. (The milk should be less in quantity otherwise it will make french toast soggy.)
-
Pre-heat the pan with the butter (oil cannot be preferred).
-
Take the 6-7 bread slice or (as per eggs) and soak it in the mixture well.
-
Fry it on the pan till its surface becomes light brown in color.
